Apache Wells Activity Director
Lorie Healey-Barnes is the Activities Director at Apache Wells Homeowner Association. As she says, “I do not dance, sing nor am not artistic, but love to make things happen”, so this is the perfect position. In her spare time, she belongs to the Apache Wells Country Club, joined the Nine Hole Swingers and participates in the morning water aerobics. Come join her class on Wednesday mornings at 8:00 a.m.!
Lorie is from Rapid City South Dakota and has owned a home in Apache Wells since 2016. She was raised in Sturgis, South Dakota, so if you’ve been to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, you may have run into her! Prior to purchasing a home in Apache Wells, she and her husband, Evan, owned a park model in Apache Wells RV Park for ten years while running their business.
When back in the Black Hills, Lorie teaches water aerobics, youth swimming lessons and spends time with their six grandchildren. Lorie and Evan sold their NAPA Auto Care repair center in December 2020 and fully retired. They then sold their home in Rapid City in September 2023 and now spent summers in their 5th wheel at Hart Ranch Camping Resort.
Residents have options for contacting Lorie with event ideas or to volunteer. You can stop by the Activity Office, email her at Activities@ApacheWells.com or call her at 480-306-5475. If you prefer to visit her, she is usually in the office November through April. Call the office for current hours.
